In this house spent the last years of his life Antoni Bauzá Roca (1906-1980), who was known in the town as Metge Bauçá. He was for many years the doctor of the village and the mayor of Petra from 1969 to 1979. Beyond this he was notable for his great contribution to the knowledge and recognition of Junipero. One of his numerous initiatives was the foundation of the Association of Friends of Father Junípero Serra in 1952 and the promotion of the Museum and the Father Junípero Centre created in 1959. His portrait is shown in the assembly hall of the museum together with others of illustrious people.
